Great Things About Australian Dating
I remember when I first met my wife in Auckland: Australian dating happens in all parts of town, especially on beaches. We met during something that my UK friends used to call 'hot winter' (living down under has its quirks) because Aussie population in New Zealand is quite large.
We met on the beach while I was trying to surf, frustrated over my lack of coordination (I swim like a plank and have two left feet). She was laughing at my attempts at first, probably thinking that I'm a huge idiot for even attempting something so complicated.
Annoyed, I tossed a few remarks about her hair and we argued for half an hour, but somehow managed to get into a bar and get drunk. After that, she taught me how to surf properly, and I shower her my other skills (I'm a designer) and we've been together ever since. Being an Australian dating in New Zealand was a pleasant experience for me, but we also see a lot of other Aussie couples who met here, in the land of the kiwi and Lord of the rings.
